Multi-Award winning manufacturer GDS were recently commissioned to develop a flexible lighting solution in a disused area of the Southbank.As part of the Festival of Britain anniversary celebrations, GDS were approached by Roger Hennigan Technical Manager at The Southbank Centre, to assist with the redevelopment of disused outside area  of the Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof.  The space was to be part of the centres redevelopment project, with plans to build a garden and green event space for the festival celebrations. Multi-award winning UK manufacturer GDS is delighted to announce yet another accolade for its new Auditorium lighting product, ArcSystem.  ArcSystem has been awarded the LDI Best Green Product Award for 2011 (sponsored by Showman Fabricators) at the recent LDI show in Orlando, Florida. 

GDS ArcSystem is a brand new concept that provides a low energy future proofing solution for auditoria house lighting.  ArcSystem is an LED, fully dimmable fixture with a warm white tungsten colour output designed to emulate a traditional incandescent fitting. It is one of the first LED products to be dimmed to zero without stepping or snapping and utilises a custom dimming curve designed to mimic a tungsten light source.  Each unit is fitted with the unique ArcMesh wireless transceiver for intensity control forming a mesh network matrix amongst multiple fixtures, enabling stability and completely flexible control.  ArcMesh allows installers and specifiers the option to offer a solution for retro fit, without the need to run additional control cabling.  Perhaps the most important factor is the low energy element, given run time and maintenance costs early estimations suggest that ArcSystem will provide a return on investment within 36 months”.
