Sadler’s Mead Car Park in Chippenham has recently undergone significant redevelopment to support new investment in commercial office space, and the towns rail links. The new multi-story facility incorporates attractive timber cladding, semi-mature trees and also benefits from solar panels, electric charging points, and a highly efficient lighting arrangement.

GDS worked with collaboratively with the team at Method Consulting to specify a complete lighting solution for the car park inclusive of high-efficiency battens, stairwell bulkhead, columns, and emergency fittings. At the heart of the project is a customized version of the Indus from our Focus Series. The IP67 polycarbonate batten also boasts an IK10 rating, reinforced anti-vandal brackets, and cable entry glands to match the 20mm steel conduit. Offering close to 150 lm/W this durable workhorse will provide safe, uniform, and low glare lighting for years to come.

Solutions Provided

This project was specified to produce a highly efficient car park lighting scheme for Method Consulting. This design needed to be practical, cost effective and efficient. Our highly skilled in house design team created a solution that provided a mixture of IP67 rated battens, bulkheads and emergency fittings to provide a safe and functional solution. The Indus provides close to 150lm/W which greatly exceeds most luminaires efficacy found on the market today. The fittings installed are robust, powerful and look great in this environment.
