Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas needs no introduction. Built in Finland by Meyer Turku, and setting sail from the Port of Miami in January 2024, Icon of the Seas is the worlds largest cruise ship.

The ships credentials are staggering. 20 decks, 2805 cabins, over 40 restaurants and bars, and seven swimming pools. The ship also boasts the tallest waterfall, waterslide, and largest waterpark of any cruise ship.

The best cruise ships in the world empower some of the boldest shows at sea. The Royal Theater spans decks 4 and 5 and provides the facilities to match some world-class performances from the RCCL productions team. GDS were thrilled to be asked to contribute.

Solutions Provided

The Lupus downlight was selected by the lighting designer as a hugely important piece for this landmark venue. In this instance, the fixtures were paired with GDS’ popular DL4 drivers to provide flawless dimming to this majestic venue.

"As a counterpart, GDS provided excellent support from the start of the mock-up phase through to the end of the project. I see this kind of cooperation as crucial to achieve the best possible results for this project."
