GDS is delighted to become a corporate member of the ALD (Association of Lighting Designers)! The ALD is the professional body representing all those who work or are interested in the creation of lighting, video & projection for live performance and events.
The ALD grew out of the Society of British Theatre Lighting Designers. This club of designers expanded its membership in 1981 to embrace lighting professionals from all fields. The ALD is involved in a number of Awards to recognise the art and contribution of Lighting Designers in various forms of Live Performance and to assist with its aims to further the art and appreciation of creative lighting design and raise the professional status of lighting design as part of the creative process.
As a corporate member, GDS will continue to champion the ALD’s inspiring work, supporting the sponsored student scheme for rising lighting designers and best practice for the industry.
