The newest member of the Marella Cruises family, Voyager set sail in June 2023 after an extensive 6-week drydock. Marking a significant milestone for TUI, the vessel boasts an array of exciting new concepts, as well as some of the cruise lines familiar favourites.
The Electric Rooms is a wonderfully dynamic and visually stunning venue encompassing Bar/Lounge, Club and Casino. Working in direct collaboration with the design teams at 20.20 and Marella, GDS technology has empowered a striking concept that would not have previously been possible.

Drive Hub
Our revolutionary, high capacity drive system is the heartbeat of the venues lighting. World leading efficiency, dynamic control, and highly accessible for maintenance and reporting.
Puppis
Puppis is used throughout as the venues primary downlight in multiple sizes and outputs. Easily integrated into existing deckhead. Discreet and reliable, with fabulous colour rendition.
Quasar
Compact, economical recessed downlight that delivers vibrant colour and precision dimming
Atlas
Exceptionally rendered white light gives the space plenty of options for daytime activities, and in the evening the vibrant colour ring creates dynamic and exciting lighting effects.
Arcturus Round
Sleek, minimalist linear feature. Delivering a colourful glow from LED that perfectly fits the neon theme of the nightclub.
Orion 48V
Beautifully uniform light distribution with RGBW capability to enhance the venues most prominent architectural features
Solutions Provided
GDS enjoy an excellent working relationship with the Marella project teams. The trust placed in GDS at the very beginning of this vision was critical to achieving such dramatic results. The project demanded multiple unique installations, and a complex control system that’s still intuitive to use. We were delighted to collaborate with the brilliant team at MJM Marine, and Green Marine Ireland to deliver such a challenging concept.
The venue has really drawn on the experience of GDS’ lighting design, engineering and manufacturing teams. Incorporating numerous custom builds, and light fixtures from both our Focus and Harmony Series. Once again, Marella have turned to the award winning Drive Hub system to bring the space to life. The technology continues to deliver unrivalled efficiency, reliability and precise control across simple data cable.
Our trusted engineering team was on hand to support installation and commissioning across multiple venues.
"We worked with GDS on the Electric Rooms for Marella Voyager – a Nightclub, Lounge and Casino concept that took its inspiration from 1980s Nightlife and Miami chic. Even though it was the first time that we worked with GDS, it felt like we were long time collaborators. We really enjoyed the design process and their active collaboration; they got our concept immediately and were enormously supportive, providing technical expertise and clever solutions for a complex brief throughout.
